My passion towards learning, started when I studied high school in Lebanon where I was the top in 5 in my class. I coninued my higher education and graduated with honors in 2016 at Pennsylvania State University in 2016, with a bachelor degree in Mechanical engineering. And, I am currently pursuing Master's degree in Business Analytics in Purdue University.
I started my career journey in Aramco where I have held positions such as process engineer, corrosion engineer, and project engineer/turnaround engineer. In the last two years I planned and executed multiple Turnaround projects with 7 figure budgets for each project. The planning includes scope initiation, material procurement, contract development, scheduling, coordinating & communicating with stake holders, and budget management. These projects had many challenges each of it own risks, in terms of procurement, logistics, manpower, environment, and Covid-19. The team and I overcame these challenges successfully with no compromises, and in effect improving the end result for our stakeholder and customer. I have also earned the PMP certification as a result of my career experience.
Business has always been an interest of mine from when I started selling burgers at age 10. And in 2016, I started searching and analyzing business opportunities. Though I started a food business in 2017, I have not stopped searching for other opportunities. I have looked into many businesses in different industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, services, e-commerce, etc... I have failed at some and disregarded others that did not meet my expectations.
I invest much of my time in reading books, mainly about business, human behavior, and biographies. Some of the great books I have read; Seeking Wisdom by Charlie Munger, The Intelligent Investor, One Up On Wall Street, and shoe dog.
Learning about business did not stop at reading books, as I have taken many online courses on business, such as “predictive analytics for business” by Udacity. The course was an eye opener on the power of data analytics and how it can be leveraged to help businesses prosper. In the course I learned how to clean, analyze, and present data using Alteryx and Tableau applications.
